1) Library closed for renovations
Unfortunately for bookworms all over Richfield, the Augsburg Park Library is closed for renovations. According to a post the library posted on Patch, the library will reopen in mid-September. Looking for books in the interim? Check out Southdale Library (7001 York Ave. S., Edina), Washburn Library (5244 Lyndale Ave. S., Minneapolis), and Oxboro Library (8801 Portland Ave. S., Bloomington). Patrons who request Augsburg as their pickup location will automatically have their requests routed to the Southdale library.
2) Farmers Market
Head on over to the twice-weekly Richfield Farmers Market. This week's event it at Lyndale Gardens, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
3) Candidate filing open
Ever wanted to run for school board? The candidate filing period is now open. You might have a decent shot at the position, too, if you can convince your neighbors that you're the best person for the job—some of the members up for reelection this fall are uncertain whether or not they will run again. The city will also vote on renewing a $1 million technology levy, and on whether to boost that levy to pay for new devices for students.
