Richfield Man Killed After Car Strikes MnDOT Truck In Minneapolis
The crash happened Wednesday evening just after 8:30 p.m.

MINNEAPOLIS — A 25-year-old Richfield man died in a crash on Interstate 35W in Minneapolis Wednesday evening after his car struck a Minnesota Department of Transportation truck.
At about 8:30 p.m., multiple MnDOT trucks were cleaning up debris on the right shoulder near 50th Street. Their emergency lights were activated, according to authorities.
As traffic was slowing and merging left, the driver of a Nissan Versa overcorrected and lost control, police said. The Nissan then struck a MnDOT truck before hitting the concrete sound wall.

The Nissan driver, Samuel A. Spratt, died at the scene.
Neither the driver nor the passenger of the MnDOT truck was injured, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Road conditions were wet during the fatal crash.
