Richfield Man Killed In Crash On I-494 Identified

RICHFIELD, MN — The 37-year-old motorcyclist from Richfield who died in a crash on Interstate 494 over Interstate 35W Sunday has been identified. Marcus Fiori died of "multiple blunt force injuries" in the crash, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner ruled.

Just after 3:30 a.m., Fiori was riding a Honda motorcycle west on I-494 and lost control, hitting the median. Fiori then collided with a Volkswagen GTI that was traveling east on I-494 in the eastbound lanes, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Road conditions were dry at the time of the crash, investigators said. The driver of the Volkswagen was not injured.

Fiori died at the scene.
