Richfield Votes to End Bloomington Education Partnership

The Richfield School Board recently voted to end a decades-long partnership with Bloomington.

For more than 30 years, the Richfield and Bloomington school districts have partnered to provide early learning and community education. Next year, that relationship will come to an end.

The Sun Current reported that the Richfield School Board voted unanimously Dec. 5 to split from Bloomington in the partnership. The school districts will begin to operate separately in the summer of 2017.

The goal of the split "is to really strengthen the Richfield public school identity, including how we support our larger Richfield community," Leadriane Roby, assistant superintendent for Richfield Schools, told the Sun Current.
