Shops Vandalized In Minneapolis Will Reopen In Mall Of America
The "Community Commons" space that will feature 17 independent shops that were affected by recent street violence.

BLOOMINGTON, MN — Seventeen businesses destroyed or damaged during the civil unrest in Minneapolis this summer will reopen in the Mall of America this spring. The mall will host a space called "Community Commons," a donated space that will feature 17 independent shops that were affected by the violence.
The businesses in Community Commons will remain there for a year.
"The Community Commons initiative is one of hope and possibility as Mall of America joins the efforts to help rebuild the hearts, minds and livelihoods of our diverse retail community," said Jill Renslow, head of marketing for the Mall of America, said in a news release.
