Snowy Weather in Richfield: What to Remember

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Richfield effective from 12:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16 through 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17. At least 6 inches of snow is expected to fall in Richfield during this period.

Richfield parking restrictions after snowfall

A snow emergency is automatically in effect in Richfield after two inches of snow has fallen.

After two inches of snow has fallen, parking on the street is prohibited until the streets have been plowed curb to curb. Vehicles in violation may be ticketed and towed.

Placement of trash and recycling cans

In Richfield, it is illegal to place your trash or recycling can in the street, alley, or on the sidewalk. The cans interfere with plowing, sweeping, and become a hazard to pedestrians and traffic. Keep your trash cans behind the curb and off of the street and sidewalk.

Richfield's snowplow crews try to clear the streets as quickly as possible. High volume roads are plowed first, then neighborhood collector streets.
