3 Kids Shot, Killed In Minneapolis Since April 30: No Arrests
Three separate shootings have taken the lives of children ages 10, 9, and 6 in Minneapolis.
MINNEAPOLIS — Three children 10 and under have been killed by gunfire in Minneapolis since April 30. No arrests have been made.
Crime Stoppers of Minnesota and the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce have partnered to offer a total of $30,000 for information in these cases.
"These brazen senseless acts of gun violence must stop," Minneapolis Chief of Police Medaria Arradondo said in a statement Sunday after another shooting Sunday that killed two and injured several others.

"The perpetrators of these crimes should never find refuge or anonymity in our communities. Minneapolis police officers will continue to rush into harms way to save lives however we need help from community leaders and residents to stand up and speak out denouncing loudly that they will not tolerate this violence as well. Our greatest strength is when we all work together to keep our city safe. Our children are watching us and how we respond during these times. Let’s come together to uplift hope and peace."

Ladavionne Garrett Jr., 10
On Friday April 30, 2021, 10-year-old Ladavionne Garrett Jr. was riding in a car with his mother and father on a visit from their home in St. Cloud when a gunman opened fire with a bullet striking Ladavionne’s head. This shooting took place in the afternoon near 34th and Morgan in North Minneapolis.
Trinity Ottoson-Smith
On Saturday May 15, 2021, Trinity Ottoson-Smith was shot in the head while playing on a trampoline in the 2200 block of Ilona Av. N in Minneapolis. The 9-year-old girl was taken to North Memorial Hospital in critical condition. Police have information that the shooter was in a red 4-door Ford vehicle.
Aniya Allen, 6
On the evening of Monday May 17, 2021, 6-year-old Aniya Allen and her mother had just left a McDonald’s when at the intersection of N. 36th and Penn Av. shots from what is believed by Police to be a gang gunfight struck and killed Aniya.
