Here are the latest vaccination rates in Minnesota's seven-county metro.

TWIN CITIES, MN — Counties in the Twin Cities metro have some of the highest COVID-19 vaccination rates in the state. As of this week, more than 70 percent of residents in Hennepin County — home to the biggest population in the state — have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

Ramsey County, the second-largest county in the state, is not far behind.

Here's how the seven counties in the Twin Cities metro area stack up when it comes to eligible residents with at least one dose of the vaccine.

1. Hennepin County

  • Eligible residents with at least one dose: 702,145 (70.3 percent)
  • Eligible residents who completed the vaccine series: 561,217 (56.2 percent)

2. Ramsey County

  • Eligible residents with at least one dose: 291,556 (67.7 percent)
  • Eligible residents who completed the vaccine series: 226,503 (52.6 percent)

3. Washington County

  • Eligible residents with at least one dose: 133,592 (66.7 percent)
  • Eligible residents who completed the vaccine series: 106,278 (53 percent)

4. Carver County

  • Eligible residents with at least one dose: 50,968 (65.5 percent)
  • Eligible residents who completed the vaccine series: 39,840 (51.2 percent)

5. Dakota County

  • Eligible residents with at least one dose: 212,517 (64.4 percent)
  • Eligible residents who completed the vaccine series: 167,833 (50.9 percent)

6. Scott County

  • Eligible residents with at least one dose: 69,156 (63.2 percent)
  • Eligible residents who completed the vaccine series: 52,537 (48 percent)

7. Anoka County

  • Eligible residents with at least one dose: 144,169 (52.3 percent)
  • Eligible residents who completed the vaccine series: 111,904 (40.6 percent)

Statewide, fewer people are seeking the COVID-19 vaccine, data from the Minnesota Department of Health shows. The rate of vaccinations has fallen since the week of April 4, when 406,783 doses were administered. Just 214,973 doses were administered in the first week of May.

The vaccine rate is especially slow in many of Minnesota's rural counties, including six where less than 40 percent of eligible residents have opted to receive the vaccine.
