Infant Carriers Sold At Target Recalled Due To 'Fall Hazard'

MINNEAPOLIS — An infant carrier sold exclusively at Target is being recalled due to the danger it poses to children. Customers should immediately stop using the Eddie Bauer fabric infant carriers, says the U.S. Consumer Safety Product Commission.

The buckles on the infant carriers can break, posing a fall hazard to children, the agency says. There have been at least eight reported incidents of broken buckles. So far, no injuries have been reported.

The product was sold in Target stores nationwide and online between December 2017 and August 2018 for around $70.

The carrier is worn by the caregiver, with the baby strapped on the front. The recalled carriers are black with "Eddie Bauer" and "First Adventure" printed in gray lettering on the front.

Customers should contact Gold Inc. to verify the product. Once it's verified, they will receive replacement products of comparable value or a full refund.

Customers who purchased the carrier must cut off and return both straps and tag with their name, address, and phone number to receive a replacement product or refund.
