TWIN CITIES, MN — More than 91,000 Minnesota residents could be at least partially vaccinated against the coronavirus by the end of 2020, according to state officials. The COVID-19 vaccines will begin arriving in Minnesota hospitals and other healthcare hubs "in the next week or so," Gov. Tim Walz announced Tuesday.

Approximately 183,000 vaccine doses are set to arrive in Minnesota by the end of December:

  • 46,800 will be the Pfizer vaccine doses (arriving next week)
  • 136,600 will be the Moderna vaccines doses (arriving in the last two weeks of December)

Both vaccines require each person to receive two doses to get the full effect. If all goes as planned, a maximum of 91,700 Minnesotans will be partially or fully vaccinated against the virus within the month.
