Former Gopher Football Player Dies Of Cancer
University of Minnesota football player Nick Connelly died Wednesday after a battle with cancer, according to his father.

University of Minnesota football player Nick Connelly died Wednesday after a battle with cancer. Connelly quit playing football last season after suffering concussions.
In June, Connelly was diagnosed with Burkitt’s lymphoma, an aggressive form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
His father posted on Twitter Thursday morning that Connelly had died at the age of 22.

Connelly was a standout football player at Red Wing High School.
