George Floyd Case: $750K Bail Set For 3 Former Minneapolis Cops
Three of the four former Minneapolis police officers charged in the George Floyd case made their initial court appearances Thursday.

MINNEAPOLIS — The three former Minneapolis police officers who were arrested and charged with aiding and abetting in the death of George Floyd made their initial court appearances in Hennepin County Thursday.
A judge set bail at $750,000, according to the Associated Press.
J Alexander Kueng, 26, of Plymouth, Thomas Lane, 37, of St. Paul and Tou Thao, 34, of Coon Rapids, each face one count each of aiding and abetting unintentional second-degree murder and aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter.

Derek Chauvin, 44, of Oakdale — who was charged by Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman last week with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter — was charged with a new count of second-degree unintentional murder while committing a felony Wednesday.
"I believe that evidence available to us now supports the stronger charge of second-degree murder," Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison said at a news conference.

Ellison was appointed special prosecutor in the case by Gov. Tim Walz.
