MINNEAPOLIS — George Floyd’s girlfriend says that the riots and looting that took place in Minneapolis on Wednesday night are not what her late boyfriend would have wanted.

"I am heartbroken," Courteney Ross told the Star Tribune. "Waking up this morning to see Minneapolis on fire would be something that would devastate Floyd."

"He loved the city," Ross said, adding that Floyd came to Minneapolis from Houston and stayed "for the people and the opportunities."
