MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx owner Glen Taylor has finalized an agreement to sell the teams to former New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez and his business partner, Marc Lore. The NBA must approve the deal before it can close.

"The transaction will close following league approval, beginning the transition of ownership and a new chapter of Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx basketball," read a statement from Taylor's office.

The sale is worth $1.5 billion, sources tell ESPN's Brian Windhorst.
