Man Sentenced In Minneapolis Arson During George Floyd Protests

The man pleaded no contest to second-degree arson in December, the Lincoln Journal Star reports.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — A Lincoln, Minnesota, man will spend four years behind bars after being convicted of second-degree arson, the Lincoln Journal Star reports.

The man, 28-year-old Tyler Maple, turned himself in to authorities after surveillance footage showed him using a lighter to set fire to trash in an EZ Go store, according to the newspaper. He later pleaded no-contest to the arson charge.

Maple was sentenced to serve four years in prison in addition to two years of supervised release. He was also made to repay over $2,000 in restitution.
