Minneapolis To Lift One-Sided Parking Ban Early
Limiting parking to one side of most neighborhood streets created more reliable access for emergency responses, officials said.

MINNEAPOLIS — The city of Minneapolis is lifting its one-sided parking band effective 10 a.m. Friday, March 22. The city implemented the restriction Feb. 27 after significant snow accumulation had narrowed city streets, making access difficult for emergency vehicles.
Limiting parking to one side of most neighborhood streets created more reliable access for emergency responses, officials said.
Milder weather has allowed the snow pack to melt, returning streets to more normal conditions, according to a news release.

Beginning 10 a.m. Friday, normal parking rules will apply on city streets. As always, drivers should continue to follow rules on any posted parking signs.
Although the ban is being lifted, it is still possible to have additional snow emergencies, officials noted.
