MINNEAPOLIS, MN— Emotional scenes broke out on the streets in Minneapolis after news that the jury in the Derek Chauvin trial found him guilty on all three counts.
Crowds had gathered in the city near the Hennepin County courthouse and at the intersection where George Floyd spent his final moments in anticipation of the verdict's announcement.
Cheers and claps were heard among the crowds as the verdict was announced at the courthouse.

Chauvin was convicted of second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter in George Floyd's death on Memorial Day 2020, in which he knelt on Floyd's neck for over nine minutes.
