Costello was originally from Wethersfield, Connecticut. Drafted by the Seattle Mariners in 2017, Costello — a Midwest League midseason All-Star — was traded to the Twins in 2018.
His roommates found him in bed after he didn't report to Monday training, reports "Stuff," a New Zealand news website. It is believed that Costello died in his sleep from natural causes.
