Minnesota Weather: Chance For Snow Wednesday

TWIN CITIES, MN — There's one more real chance for snow before Christmas in the Twin Cities, but it's too early to say how likely. "The chance for snow continues for Wednesday, but there is still a lot of uncertainty in the storm track, so it is too early to say who will see accumulating snow," states the National Weather Service.

"Confidence is increasing that cold weather will settle in on Christmas Eve. Lows below zero are possible, with highs near 10 degrees."

Christmas Day in Minnesota will be sunny and fairly cold. Here's the full NWS forecast for the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area:

Monday: Mostly cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 32 by 9am. Breezy, with a west northwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 21. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph becoming light and variable after midnight.

Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 38. South southeast wind 5 to 10 mph increasing to 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a steady temperature around 35. South southeast wind 10 to 15 mph becoming west after midnight.

Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of snow afternoon. Mostly cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 21 by 5pm. Breezy, with a northwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Wednesday Night: A 20 percent chance of snow before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 3. Blustery, with a northwest wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 11. Northwest wind around 10 mph.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a steady temperature around 9. West northwest wind around 5 mph.

Christmas Day: Mostly sunny, with a high near 21. West wind 5 to 10 mph.
