Minnesota Weather: More Snow Before 'Dangerously Cold Air'

TWIN CITIES, MN — More snow is set to arrive Thursday before the "dangerously cold air" arrives this weekend, according to the National Weather Service. Up to 4 inches of snow could fall in parts of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro.

The low in the metro will drop to 15 degrees below zero on Sunday.

"The coldest air of the season is expected to move in Saturday and last into early next week," says the NWS. "Wind chill values as cold as -25 to -35 degrees are possible on Sunday and Monday mornings."

Here's the full NWS forecast for the Twin Cities metro area:

Tuesday: Patchy freezing fog between 10am and noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 27. Calm wind becoming south southeast around 5 mph in the afternoon.
Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 19. South southeast wind around 5 mph.
Wednesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 35. South southeast wind 5 to 15 mph.
Wednesday Night: A chance of rain and snow after midnight. Cloudy, with a steady temperature around 34. South wind 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
Thursday: Snow likely, possibly mixed with rain, becoming all snow after 8am. Patchy blowing snow after 5pm. Cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 20 by 5pm. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph becoming northwest in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 4. Northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 11. West northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy and cold, with a high near 2. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.
