TWIN CITIES, MN — Several inches of snow are set to fall starting Thursday in the Twin Cities metro area. "There is the potential for hazardous winter weather Thursday through Friday," says the National Weather Service.

"Forecast snowfall amounts have increased, however there is still uncertainty with this storm. If you have travel plans across the region Thursday or Friday, make sure you stay up-to-date with the latest winter weather forecasts."

Thursday: Rain and snow likely, possibly mixed with freezing rain before 8am, then snow likely, possibly mixed with rain between 8am and 10am, then snow likely after 10am. Cloudy, with a high near 36. West northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Thursday Night: Snow likely, mainly after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
Friday: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 33. North northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
Friday Night: Snow likely, mainly before 7pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22. North northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Saturday: Cloudy, with a high near 26. North northwest wind around 10 mph.
