Minnesota Weather: Wind Chill Advisory In Effect

The wind chill will approach 30 degrees below zero on Saturday night, according to the National Weather Service.

TWIN CITIES, MN — A wind chill advisory is in effect from Friday through Sunday morning for the Twin Cities metro area and much of central Minnesota. Wind chill values will approach 30 degrees below zero on Saturday night.

"Arctic high pressure will remain in place through next week," states the National Weather Service. "The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes."

The NWS says "another advisory will likely be needed for next week."

Here's the full NWS forecast for the Twin Cities metro area:

Friday: Cloudy, with a high near 10. Wind chill values as low as -13. West northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around -4. Wind chill values as low as -19. West northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.
Saturday: Partly sunny and cold, with a high near 0. Wind chill values as low as -20. West northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.
Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around -15. Wind chill values as low as -27. West northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
Sunday: Increasing clouds and cold, with a high near -1. West northwest wind around 5 mph.
Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around -11. West northwest wind around 5 mph.
Monday: Partly sunny and cold, with a high near 1. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around -12. West northwest wind around 5 mph.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny and cold, with a high near 2. West wind 5 to 10 mph.
