MN Weather: Early July 4 Weekend Forecast

Here's what Minnesotans can expect for weather during the Fourth of July weekend.

MINNEAPOLIS — The 2021 Fourth of July weekend in the Twin Cities is shaping up to be hot, humid, and dry.

There is no rain in the July 3 through July 5 forecast, according to AccuWeather, and the high temperatures will be in the 80s:

  • Friday, July 2: High of 81, "mostly cloud and humid"
  • Saturday, July 3: High of 87, "mostly cloud and humid"
  • Sunday, July 4: High of 85, "periods of sun"
  • Monday, July 5: High of 86, "mostly sunny"

Before then, Minnesota will see a number of chances for rain.

"A surface low tracking to our south will bring a chance for rain Friday through Saturday," says the National Weather Service.

"Southern Minnesota has the best chance of seeing rain through this period. Additional rainfall chances are possible through the weekend."

Thursday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between 9am and 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 91. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming north northwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. North wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east northeast after midnight.
Friday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. East northeast wind 5 to 10 mph.
Friday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph.
Saturday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. North northeast wind around 5 mph.
Saturday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. East northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Sunday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. West southwest wind around 5 mph becoming north northwest in the afternoon.
