Most Popular Super Bowl Foods: Top Snacks In Minnesota, US
From cocktail weenies to seven-layer dip to chicken wings, America loves its Super Bowl snacks.
MINNESOTA — When it comes to hosting a Super Bowl party, food is an essential part of the festivities, and in Minnesota, there is one snack in particular you’re likely to find amongst the spread.
The most popular Super Bowl snack in Minnesota is cocktail wenies, according to search volume trends on Google AdWords.
This year’s list of most popular Super Bowl foods was compiled by Illinois-based company Bid-on-Equipment, which analyzed search volume trends for more than 130 different types of Super Bowl food and snacks over the period of January 2019 to February 2019 in all 50 states and the 20 largest cities in the country.

When it comes to Super Bowl foods, the cocktail wiener takes home the trophy for being No. 1 in the most number of states. In fact, the cheap and easy cocktail weenie was the most popular in 11 different states.
Americans also love their dips; in 20 states, a dip was the top food. Among dips, the seven-layer dip earned the most nods by capturing the taste buds of residents in seven states. Buffalo chicken dip came in a close second with six states.

Surveying more than 1,200 people, researchers determined that on average, Americans spend about $69 on food, drinks, decorations or team merchandise for the game. And, when it comes to hosting a Super Bowl party, the price tag more than doubles to $174.
Though close to 80 percent of survey respondents plan to host a Super Bowl party or attend one, there are other ways football fans plan to watch the game -- 43 percent plan to watch the game at home with their families, while 36 percent plan to go to a party, 15 percent plan to host a party at their home, and 7 percent percent will watch at a bar or restaurant.
