Sid Hartman, Celebrated Minnesota Sports Writer, Dead At 100

The legendary sports journalist died surrounded by his family, his son announced Sunday.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Sid Hartman, the legendary Minnesota sports columnist for the Star Tribune, has died. Chat Hartman, Sid's son, confirmed the news Sunday.

Sid Hartman, a lifelong resident of North Minneapolis, was 100.

Hartman began his career in media selling newspapers in 1928, the Star Tribune notes.
