Single Lanes Scheduled For I-35W In Minneapolis Monday, Tuesday

Pothole repair has begun in Minneapolis on Interstate 35W.

MINNEAPOLIS — Motorists traveling on Interstate 35W should expect lane closures and delays between Highway 55/Hiawatha Avenue and 42nd Street in Minneapolis March 18-19 as crews repair potholes.

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. Monday, March 18, southbound I-35W will be a single lane between Highway 55/Hiawatha Avenue and 42nd Street. All lanes should reopen by 2 p.m. the same day.

Northbound I-35W will be a single lane beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 19 between 42nd Street and I-94. All lanes will reopen by 3 p.m.

These lane closures are necessary, so crews can repair the potholes with a longer-lasting, hot-mix product, according to a news release.

In addition, one lane will close on I-94 between I-394 at 7 p.m. Then at 10 p.m., an additional lane will close as crews restripe the road. All lanes will open by 5 a.m. Tuesday, March 19.
