Speed, Drugs Possible Factors In Deadly Minneapolis Crash: Police

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Minneapolis police say speed and drugs may have played a role in a deadly single-car crash near 45th Street East and Cedar Avenue South Friday morning. Just before 5 a.m., officers responded to the scene and found a man in his 30’s behind the wheel without a pulse or respirations.

A photo shared by police shows that the car struck a tree.

Police removed the driver from the truck and began CPR until paramedics arrived. The driver was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the identity of the driver, along with the nature and cause of death.
