Thanksgiving 2020 Grocery Store Hours In Minnesota
Find out when you can pick up last-minute Thanksgiving staples from Cub Foods, Hy-Vee, and Whole Foods in the Twin Cities metro area.
TWIN CITIES, MN — While Thanksgiving Day feasts are likely to be a little smaller this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, that doesn’t mean we’re less likely to forget the cranberry sauce, the gravy or the whipped topping for the pumpkin pie.
It’s a terrible feeling — but, luckily, there’s a list of grocery stores that will be open in Minnesota for those emergency and last-minute shopping trips.
In contrast to previous years, retail giants Target and Walmart will not be open on Thanksgiving.

Both chains made the decision in response to the coronavirus pandemic. In a statement released on its website, Target said the company’s goal is to "make the holiday shopping experience simple, safe, and stress-free.”
Here are the hours for grocery stores that will be open on Thanksgiving Day, along with a list of those that won’t:

Open Thanksgiving Day:
Cub Foods: Most Minnesota stores will be open 24 hours that day.
Whole Foods: Hours vary by Minnesota location. Many stores will open at 7 a.m. and close as early as 2 p.m.
HyVee: Closing early at 2 p.m.

- Lunds and Byerlys
- Sam’s Club
- Target
- Trader Joe’s
- Walmart
