Thunderstorms Could Interrupt 4th Of July Fireworks: MN Weather

TWIN CITIES, MN — Following hot and sunny weather during the day, there is a chance that showers and thunderstorms could interrupt firework shows on the night of the 4th of July.

"It will be a hot weekend for your 4th of July celebrations," according to the National Weather Service.

"A cold front moving across the area Sunday afternoon into the night will bring a risk of thunderstorms with it. Stay hydrated and cool this weekend and make sure you have a way to receive weather alerts in case storms try to disrupt your plans."

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 87. East northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the morning.

Friday Night: Clear, with a low around 65. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

4th of July evening: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 7pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 73. South southwest wind 5 to 15 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
