What's Open, Closed In Minneapolis-St. Paul On Memorial Day

Government offices will resume regular business hours on Tuesday following the holiday.

TWIN CITIES, MN — Minneapolis and St. Paul government offices are closed Monday, May 25, 2020 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. City offices will resume regular business hours on Tuesday following the holiday.

There are no city of Minneapolis or St. Paul garbage and recycling pickups May 25. Households’ garbage and recycling pickups scheduled for May 25 through May 29 occur one day later than their normal schedule.

In addition, Minneapolis 311 services, Minneapolis Solid Waste & Recycling customer service office and the Minneapolis Public Works Transfer Station are closed Memorial Day, according to a news release.

Minneapolis and St. Paul parking meters are not enforced May 25, but all other parking restrictions in Minneapolis remain in effect and are subject to enforcement, including Park Board meters along Minneapolis parkways, University of Minnesota parking meters and those of private organizations who operate their own meters. Always read the information posted on the meter to be certain.

Minneapolis and Saint Paul police and fire emergency services and 911 are not affected.

Open

Some businesses that are allowed to be open under the "Stay Safe MN" order will be open Monday. Grocery stores and liquor stores can remain open. Call ahead before heading out to a store to confirm that it is open.
