St. Louis Park 'Wow!' House: Small On Footprint, Big on Quirk

Bet you didn't think they could fit this much quirkiness into a thousand square feet.

SAINT LOUIS PARK, MN — This little house just went up for sale in the Eliot neighborhood. Everything here is tucked into just over 1,000 square feet. All three bedrooms and one small bathroom are upstairs in the converted attic space, while the other small bathroom is in the finished working basement with a concrete floor.

Built in 1942, the 1.5-story house is located on a corner lot with an oversized two-car driveway. The two-car garage seems to have been split in half at some point to create a one-car garage and an enclosed breezeway, but the garage door on the breezeway side remains. We're not sure why someone would do this, other than added security or just the convenience of not having to remove the door, but we like this space for its industrial flair.

Natural woodwork and hardwood floors can be found throughout the house; these really shine in the copious kitchen cabinetry. A stairwell pokes out into the kitchen, adding further structural quirkiness to the building. A breakfast nook leads out onto the paved patio, itself surrounded by iron fencing and a neatly manicured landscaping job.
