Andy Hunter Announces Candidacy for Merrimack Town Council

Local businessman Andy Hunter is seeking election to the Merrimack Town Council

Merrimack businessman and military veteran Andy Hunter has announced his candidacy for the Merrimack Town Council.

Andy has been a resident of New Hampshire since retiring from the Army and selecting Merrimack as his post-retirement home. Andy has served on the Merrimack School Budget Committee and is currently employed as a Program Director at Collins Aerospace. Andy and his wife Sarah have two grown boys and have been married for over 31 years.

“I believe the current Merrimack Town Council has done an excellent job at maintaining a stable tax rate for the community while holding the reserves necessary to fund large expenditures. This disciplined financial management enables residents of Merrimack to anticipate and budget their future tax payments, something that is vital to our residents. I will join the other Council members to ensure we continue this disciplined approach for the town. I will also focus on making sure our first responders are adequately funded for the mission we ask them to perform. We want to make sure these folks have the equipment they need in order to serve and protect our community and not put their lives in unnecessary harm. The current Councilors have done a really good job of this and I hope to contribute to their good work. I believe my business experience and leadership skills developed during a 20+ year Army career will be a value addition to our Town Council. I hope the residents will agree and I am asking for your support on April 13th.”
