Every year on June 3rd, Movement Christian Church celebrates 6/03 Day by giving a day away in service to the community. The last few years, they have had over 100 people take a day off from work to paint homeless shelters, fill food pantries, do yard work for veterans and nursing homes, purchase lunch and coffee and groceries for neighbors, and so much more. Elisa Johnson, Director of the Love603 Coalition at Movement, has been working with other leaders since March to organize a full day of volunteer opportunities. "We're inviting anyone and everyone to join us in giving a day away to love, serve, and celebrate the 603," says Johnson. This year, Movement will be deploying eight teams throughout Southern New Hampshire that will be cleaning up local parks, planting flowers at homeless shelters, working on homes in need of repair, celebrating essential workers who have served the community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and more.
Movement Christian Church, located at 27 Depot Street in Merrimack, NH, is passionate about loving the 603 and making a difference. "As a church, we want to go where Jesus is and love like Jesus does this June 3rd and every day," Johnson added.
