Former Merrimack Resident Honored by YMCA in Dedication Ceremony at YMCA Camp Sargent
On June 14, family, friends and colleagues of Mike Powers gathered at YMCA Camp Sargent in Merrimack, NH, for the dedication of the Powers Ampitheater. Mike served as Properties Director for the Y from January 1997 until his passing in September 2018. CEO Mike LaChance noted in the dedication ceremony that Mike Powers had a special place in his heart for camp. He built the amphitheater from timber harvested from the camp grounds. On his morning check of the Y properties, he often took a canoe out on Lake Naticook, to enjoy all that the camp offered. In the photos are Mike’s wife Joan and daughter Sarah.
