License Plate Naming and Arlene's Icebreaker

Gary won the Table Topics portion with his 67 Chevelle Story while Arlene's professional icebreaker speech got us all engaged

At this week's Merrimack Motivators Toastmasters Meeting, Arlene broke the ice with her Pathways speech. She told us all about her coordinating volunteering. It was very professional, and is something we were all impressed with-especially for an icebreaker speech.

Gary was the big winner of the impromptu table topics portion of the meeting. He took Kathy's idea of identifying what kind of license plate you would be or relate to, to a whole new level. We could all imagine sitting on the back side of that '67 Chevelle with vinyl seats with Gary leaning out the side to relieve his car sickness.

Plus, Lauren, as always, kept us on track with the requirements of Toastmasters. She is good about doing the research on how navigate the website between meetings, so she can demonstrate, to the members, how to do simple tasks like logging in speeches.

By regularly giving speeches, gaining feedback, leading teams and guiding others to achieve their goals in a supportive atmosphere, leaders emerge from the Toastmasters program. Every Toastmasters journey begins with a single speech. During their journey, they learn to tell their stories. They listen and answer. They plan and lead. They give feedback—and accept it. Through our community of learners, they find their path to leadership.Visit www.toastmasters.org for more information.
