Merrimack Fall Baseball reaches Championship

Merrimack HS Varsity Fall Baseball

The Merrimack Varsity Fall Baseball team defeated Laconia 3-1 on Sunday with a strong pitching performance from the Merrimack pitching staff.

Cody Pfeifer and Eric Stack scored in the bottom of the 1st inning on a passed ball, while Pfeifer took home on the initial catcher miscue, Stack advanced home all the way from 2nd base after Laconia pitcher misplayed relay from the catcher. That was all that was needed as Jake Mainey pitched a solid 4.1 innings and Michael Grover closed out the game securing the last 2 outs for the save.
Merrimack was aggressive on the bases by swiping 6 out of 7 bags on the day. Merrimack advances to the NH Varsity Fall Baseball League championship game and will face Pinkerton on Saturday, 11/4, 10:30am at Ledge Street field in Nashua.
