MERRIMACK, NH — Merrimack High School's Top 10: Abbigail Cote.

My name is Abbigail Cote, and I’m honored to be the class of 2021’s Salutatorian! It’s been a hectic year, and certainly not a normal one, but I’m glad to have been able to continue my education — it’s certainly put a new appreciation in me to see how hard our teachers and families have worked to provide us with everything we need to succeed. Next year, I’m happy to be studying chemical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and plan to use my education to contribute to sustainability and other environmental cause.

Outside of academics, I play flute in my school’s band along with my friends, including marching band in the fall. Some of my favorite moments from high school are undeniably the times before and after games and practices, whether that’s blasting music on bus rides or going to get ice cream afterward. Throughout my school years, I’ve participated in a variety of activities. One of my achievements I’m most proud of was placing third nationally for a National History Day project with my friends, but I’ve also enjoyed participating in Envirothon, and as a representative on the Parks and Rec Committee. I’ll be leaving Merrimack with plenty of good memories, as well as an excellent education, and for that, I thank my teachers, staff, and all the wonderful people who have surrounded me.
