Besides that, Matthew is a National Merit Scholarship Finalist winner. He also scored a 5 out of 5 on both his AP U.S. History and AP Language and Composition tests.

His scholastic accomplishments go beyond academics, however. At the beginning of Sophomore year, he joined the MHS Theater Department. His resourcefulness and leadership skills were immediately noticed by the director, and he was made Stage Manager. His proudest performances were Radium Girls, Episode on an Autumn Evening, and Merrimack Night Live. Under his management, the play Episode on an Autumn Evening won the Regional Theater Competition. Keeping up with his honors-level grades, working at a grocery store, and serving a leadership role in Theater reveal his diligent nature.

Though Matthew has much to be proud of, he cannot take all the credit for his successes. He would like to thank Molly, Jennifer, and Emily Major; as well as his “Nana”, Maryann Regis, for all the love and support they provided and continue to give him.

In the fall, he will be attending the University of Massachusetts Boston as a member of the Honors College. He is pursuing a degree in Biology.
