Merrimack Shooting Suspect Caught Along DW Highway
Merrimack Police have caught a Nashua man suspected of shooting a 19-year-old earlier today.

MERRIMACK, N.H. - Merrimack Police have caught a Nashua man suspected of shooting a 19-year-old earlier Wednesday.
In dramatic fashion, officers cornered shooting suspect Jackson Crawford, 21, of Nashua, along Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack while Police Chief Denise Roy was giving a press conference, warning residents to be on the look out for the suspect.
Roy said police were called to the Mill Street Boat ramp earlier today with a a 19-year-old male suffering from two gun shot wounds to the chest. Roy said the man was transported to a hospital in Burlington, Mass. There was no word on his condition.

According to Roy, the arresting officers Lt. Theodore Dylan and Patrolman Michael Lambert were called in earlier in the day after the search for Crawford and his blue Toyota Carolla intensified.
Roy said the pair of officers spotted Lambert as he was walking with the two other men suspected of being in Crawford's car when the shooting occurred.

"They were taken down without incident and they are now all in custody," Roy told reporters earlier this evening. "I can't overstate the amazing police work here tonight. There were officers called in to help and we're just as understaffed as anyone else. They were called in to help and they found him."
Roy said Crawford and two other suspects were arrested at gun point without any injury. She said charges for the trio would be forthcoming as the investigation continued.
Roy said police are still searching for Crawford's vehicle, described as an older model blue Toyota Corolla with NH plates. She said one or more of the vehicle's windows may be shattered due to the gunshots.
"This is an active investigation but it is our understanding that Crawford was the one who committed the shooting," she said.
Merrimack Police said Crawford has a history with police. In 2016, Crawford was one of two men charged with robbery and threatening in Nashua.
Police said the pair attacked a 21-year-old Manchester man in his apartment and stole "personal belongings."
