Merrimack Youth Association competes in the 1st Annual Queen City Classic Youth Wrestling Tournament
MYA Wrestlers bring home five champ titles and seven runners-up
Kindergartner Andrew Schuster took third place on the podium with a win by points and one extremely narrow loss in OT.
Ryan Marone, grade 1, wrestled hard against his opponents to take fourth place medal.
Second grader Liam Newman breezed through his bracket pinning all of his opponents and taking first place crown.

Benjamin Koudriashov, Collin Schuster, Rhys Dewar, grade 2, all took home second place with Koudriashov winning two by pin and Schuster with one win by pin. Dewar wrestled up in a higher age bracket and still had two wins by points against the tougher competition.
Second graders Kael McAloon and Aiden Kennedy both took third place with McAloon completing one win by pin

Micah Dodds and Luke Emond, grade 2, both took fourth place medal wrestling hard against their competitors.
Third grader Jackson Meehan took runners up title with one win by pin on the day. Cayden Dine and John Regal, grade 3, both took third place on the podium each winning one by pin. Dine narrowly lost one of his matches by a single point.
Ivey Johnson, grade 4, took second place and completed one win by pin on the day.
Mitchell Krupp, grade 5 brought home second place medal with one win by pin.
Fifth grader Owen Forrest battled his way to fourth place falling after a barn burner of a match in the final round.
Brothers JJ Bright, grade 5 and Liam Bright, grade 2 made their parents proud by both taking first place titles. Liam cruised through the competition pinning all of his opponents along the way. JJ had one pin on the day and two by points.
Seventh grader Hunter Adams notched his first win of the season to bring home third place medal.
Eighth graders Aiden Hanning and Zachary Maszczak each tore up their competition pinning everyone along the way to take first place medal. Hanning wrestled up in one of his matches against an opponent that outweighed him by 40 lbs and still took the win by pin. Anson Dewar had two wins by pin to finish in second place. His one loss on the day was a very narrow one in OT.
The Merrimack Youth Wrestling Program is part of the Merrimack Youth Association. It strives to provide a safe recreational activity for Merrimack children in grades K-8. The program promotes the sport of wrestling, the world’s oldest sport, by providing a safe practice environment, by delivering high quality instruction, and by facilitating tournament competition opportunities. The Program is in its 12th season and currently has 46 wrestlers on its roster.
