The Merrimack Youth Wrestling Program competed in the annual Schweitzer Memorial Wrestling Tournament and All Girls Precision Valley Classic held at Riverside Middle School in Springfield, VT on March 4, 2017. Merrimack brought twenty two wrestlers to compete with individual results below:

Kindergartner Grayson Chestnut completed one pin on the day taking home third place medal.
Ryan Marone, grade 1, wrestled hard against his opponents taking fourth place on the podium.
Liam Bright, grade 2, pinned two opponents and edged out a third in a 2-point overtime victory to finish in first place.
Second grader, Aiden Kennedy won all three matches pinning all of his opponents along the way to take his first career championship crown.
Luke Emond, grade 2 wrestled hard in his bracket taking home fourth place on the podium.
Rhys Dewar, Benjamin Koudriashov and Kael McAloon, grade 2, each captured second place. Dewar went 4-1 on the day with his only loss a one point OT defeat. McAloon and Koudriashov each completed two wins by pin on the day.
Second grader, Isla Curley notched her first career win on the way to 2nd place finish at the All Girls Precision Valley Classic.
Third graders Gryffen Gelinas and Jackson Meehan each took first place on the podium with Meehan pinning all three opponents and Gryffen completing two of his four matches by pin.
Cayden Dine and Christian Chestnut, grade 3, each took runners up title with Chestnut completing two of his four matches by pin and Dine winning two matches in major blowouts by points.
Third grader, John Regal grabbed one win by points on the day enroute to third place.
Powerhouse Ivey Johnson, grade 4, wrestled in both the annual Schweitzer Memorial Tournament as well as the All Girls Precision Valley Classic held the very same day. She was crowned champ in the girl’s tournament pinning all of her opponents and took runners up in the regular session hauling in another two wins by pin.
Fifth graders Owen Forrest and JJ Bright each took second place medal with Bright completing one win by pin on the day. He also very narrowly lost his last match in OT by a mere two points.
Mitchell Krupp, grade 5, pinned one of his opponents enroute to fourth place on the day.
Hunter Adams, grade 7, fought hard in all four of his matches to place fifth.
Eighth grader Anson Dewar easily took home his champ crown pinning two of his opponents and winning one by commanding points. One of his opponents was the undefeated 124 pound VT state champ who faced his first loss of the season to Dewar.
Fellow teammates Aiden Hanning and Zachary Maszczak, grade 8, faced each other in the same bracket with Hanning defeating Maszczak for first place. Hanning tech falled both of his opponents. Maszczak had one commanding win by points on the day.
