Much Needed Rain for Merrimack and Then, Back to Summer
The complete NWS forecast, lightning safety awareness, and a storm surge warning for the Seacoast.

MERRIMACK, NH – It looks like another great weather week in New Hampshire, with a short break for rain on Monday and Tuesday, as we officially head into the summer season.
Forecasters are predicting another day similar to today on Monday but then showers – and possibly a thunderstorm – begin to roll in during the late hours of Monday and early Tuesday. The rain is expected to be scattered through the afternoon, according to AccuWeather.com.
After that, it’s back to mostly sunny, summer weather for much of the state.

AccuWeather.com though is warning that if you’re heading to the beach on Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning, beware of an off-the-coast system that could bring some storm surges to the coast. If you’re heading out into the ocean, expect winds of up to 40 to 50 mph with seas that will be more treacherous than normal.
Also, this week is the beginning of Lightning Safety Awareness Week, according to the National Weather Service. Here are some tips to remember.
