The Merrimack Town Council on Thursday elected Lon Woods to fill a vacancy on the board.
The council interviewed respective applicants earlier in the week.
The vacancy was created with the passing of David G. Yakuboff Sr., and the council followed established election procedure to complete its seven-member governing board.
Councilor Woods' term goes until April 2015.
