NH House Rep Colleague Endorses Wendy Thomas

Representative Sue Mullen

I am writing this letter in support of Wendy Thomas who is seeking to fill the NH House of Representatives seat that was vacated in December by the tragic death of Representative and Speaker, Dick Hinch.

Wendy and I served together during the 2019-2020 term, a first for both of us. During that time I got to know her quite well, as neighboring Bedford’s common problem of PFOA contamination became more widely known. As a “Water Warrior,” Wendy brought her knowledge and expertise to our town, offering the advice and guidance that resulted in an invigorated citizens’ group intent upon assuring water safety and curtailing pollution. The importance of her involvement in crafting the legislation that resulted in our current, tough water safety standards and extended health monitoring of those affected cannot be overstated.

But, Wendy isn’t just interested in water. During her last term in the House, she was also involved in taking on big insurance companies to be sure that folks impacted by Lyme Disease were guaranteed ongoing care. She was part of the evolving dialogue about conditions that qualify for medically necessary cannabis and employee rights, and proved to be a stalwart protector of the environment.

Known for her sense of fair play, hard work and humor, Wendy Thomas was a wonderful representative for Merrimack last term, and I know that she would be again. I hope voters will agree and send Wendy back to Concord in the special election in April.

Sincerely,
