Saint-Gobain Faces New Class Action Suit Over PFOAs
Two years after residents of Bedford and Merrimack filed the first class action against Saint Gobain, another has been filed.
MERRIMACK, N.H. - About two years after residents of Bedford and Merrimack filed the first class action against Saint Gobain plastics company for contamination local water with PFOAs, a new suit has been filed. According to the Telegraph, the suit condemns Saint-Gobain for its use of perfluorooctanoic acid which leaked into the Merrimack Water District.
The defendants are seeking compensation for injuries, the losses in property value of their homes, home repair and medical monitoring.
The first suit, filed by Gottesman & Hollis, Nashua and the Hannon Law Firm, Denver, is a class action suit that will represent all residents of occupied properties in Merrimack and Bedford who are served by the Merrimack Water District. “The number of owned properties exceeds 500 and there are over 1,000 members of the classes who have been exposed to PFAs from Saint-Gobain,” the suit states.
