Town Councilor Bill Boyd Announces Candidacy For State Rep
Boyd Seeks New Hampshire House Of Representatives Seat In Special Election Created By Untimely Passing Of Speaker Dick Hinch

Four-term Merrimack Town Councilor Bill Boyd is the Republican nominee for the open seat in Merrimack which was vacated by the untimely passing of beloved Merrimack State Representative and New Hampshire House Speaker, Dick Hinch.
“Dick Hinch was not just a beloved and trusted public servant to the Town of Merrimack; he was also a beloved and trusted husband, father, grandfather, neighbor and mentor to his family and the many people that live here in town including myself. So, this moment is very bittersweet for me because I can neither replace nor succeed Dick Hinch. However, I put forth and offer my name to the community of Merrimack as a committed local leader, with a strong record of problem-solving, responsible budgeting and advocating for Merrimack, looking to serve our community in Concord while continuing the very same leadership and constituent commitment Speaker Hinch brought daily to Concord in his service to us.”
Currently, Boyd is in his fourth term on the Town Council where he is serving his second term as the Council’s Vice-Chair. He is also the Council’s representative to the Planning Board and the Nashua Regional Planning Commission. He is also Governor Christopher Sununu’s representative to the New Hampshire Drinking Water and Groundwater Advisory Commission which manages a trust fund offering grants, revolving loans and matching funds to statewide water projects involving infrastructure, sourcewater development, wellhead protection and water quality. He is a graduate of Boston College and a real estate title examiner by trade. Married to his wife of 16 years, Michele, who is a nurse anesthetist, together, they have a daughter, Jade, who is a freshman at Plymouth State University.

“Speaker Hinch graced and embraced his role as a local leader and State Representative by passionately advocating on the quality of life issues that remain very important to our Merrimack community and me: lower taxes, limited government, local control, promoting the New Hampshire Advantage, and a continued vigilance and commitment to clean air and water. If elected, I will carry forward those same ideals that the Speaker embodied, and I advocated for as a Town Councilor, while honoring the memory of the Speaker, the office he represented, and the community this office so richly serves.”
