Choose Your Own Adventure Author Anson Montgomery Come to Portsmouth

Fall book signing tour through New England for "Escape From the Haunted Warehouse" kicks off at G. Willikers! on Friday, Sept. 11.

Chooseco, publisher of the Choose Your Own Adventure® series, is pleased to announce a book tour, featuring Anson Montgomery’s #185 Choose Your Own Adventure: Escape from the Haunted Warehouse. Montgomery, son of the late series founder R. A. Montgomery, will be appearing in several New England independent bookstores, to sign copies of his newest title and meet fans of the series.

The tour kicks off on Friday, September 11th at G. Willikers in Portsmouth.

Montgomery’s new book, “Choose Your Own Adventure #185: Escape from the Haunted Warehouse” was announced as part of Chooseco’s “Lost Archive” releases. The title was originally announced as the final book in the first run of the CYOA series, but was never published. Bloggers and online forums claimed to have read the title and gave it wild five-star reviews, but mysteriously, no print copies seemed to exist. The 4/1/2015 release was covered with rave reviews from People Magazine, Paste Magazine, and its release date was deemed a notable day of the year by USA Today. Montgomery was also interviewed by Q on The Spark Radio show to discuss the lore around Escape from the Haunted Warehouse.

Following the G. Willikers appearance, Montgomery will make further appearances in Massachusetts. The Chooseco team is excited to celebrate author (and CYOA fan) Jeff Kinney’s successful new store with a signing at An Unlikely Story in Plainville on Thursday, September 24th, followed by a signing at World Eye Bookshop in Greenfield Friday, the 25th. Finally, Montgomery will appear at Bridgeside Books in Waterbury, Vermont, Chooseco’s “hometown” bookshop. The stop at Bridgeside will be on September 30th. All signings will start at 3:30 PM, excluding World Eye Bookshop, which will commence at 4PM.

“We have such great support from independent bookstores in New England,” says Publisher Shannon Gilligan. “We’re delighted with their participation in the series’ success and can’t wait to celebrate with some in-store appearances this fall.”

“I consider this the best Choose Your Own Adventure I have ever written,” says Montgomery. “I’m really excited that readers thought so too. Following some great press this past Spring, fans have been writing to me about this title and I’m thrilled to get out and meet them. I’ve loved hearing how many readers are inspired by the series!”
