City Man Arrested for Vandalism
The following information was provided by the Portsmouth Police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Thursday, Dec. 26.
Thursday:
- At 10:33 a.m., police reported forgery of checks on Lafayette Road.
- At 10:41 a.m., police reported motor vehicle offenses on Woodbury Avenue and Farm Lane.
- At 11:03 a.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after he turned himself in at the police station. Samuel Demers, 21, of 100 McDonough St., Apt. 1 was wanted for three counts of criminal mischief (vandalism).
- At 12:47 p.m., police reported credit card fraud on Deer Street after the caller said someone ran up $1,800 in credit card charges.
- At 3:10 p.m., police arrested a female juvenile at a Lafayette Road business after she was caught shoplifting. She was charged with theft; from a building.
- At 3:40 p.m., police reported a property damage accident on Lafayette Road and Heritage Avenue without injury.
