The Craft Distilling Business sees huge growth in New Hampshire
Local Distilleries are influencing cocktail culture

If you have recently spent any time touring the restaurant and bar scene in the area you will find cocktail menu after cocktail menu, with names popping up: V5 Bourbon, Monadnock Moonshine Reserve,Copper Cannon Rum and Flag Hill Straight Bourbon Whiskey. These are all local spirits from right here in New Hampshire. The recent explosion and increased popularity of craft distillers provides the perfect opportunity to promote this exciting industry to the general population and educate consumers about craft beverages. Shake & Stir, a craft cocktail conference and competition, is launching it’s inaugural event in Portsmouth, NH on June 1st and 2nd, 2019 to celebrate the local distilleries and the booming cocktail scene.
Shake & Stir will bring the community together at the Sheraton Harborside Hotel for an exciting and educational craft spirits experience complete with keynote luncheon, seminars, mixology classes, mixers and a blues/gospel brunch. The weekend will end with a cocktail competition at various restaurants throughout the city, followed by an awards ceremony.
Featured craft distillers include Wiggly Bridge Distillery, Smoky Quartz Distillery, Sea Hagg Distillery, Flag Hill, Djinn Spirits Distillery, and New England Sweetwater Farm & Distillery. Exhibitors in the Grand Tasting room will include craft distillers, national brands, mixers, lifestyle brands and other products relevant to the industry. Sponsors include E-Booth: Events Made Easy and Taste Magazine.

Shake & Stir is the brainchild of Lisa Carter from Drinkwater Productions, who founded the original Portsmouth Cocktail Competition, and Christie Bellany from Infinite Event Concepts. Both have an extensive background in events, consumer marketing and the hospitality industry.
"We are extremely excited about bringing this event to the State of New Hampshire not only will the event attract hundreds of new visitors to the state, it will provide tremendous exposure for the craft distillers, national brand sponsors, local restaurants and other community participants," said Lisa Carter, Drinkwater Productions.
