Crime Stoppers Unveil New 'P3' App for Tipsters

The Seacoast Crime Stoppers program is moving to replacing text tips with a phone app that would allow people to upload video and photos.

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. - The Seacoast Crime Stoppers program is moving to replacing text tips with a phone app that would allow people to upload video and photos. According to Seacoast Online, the “P3” phone-app is now available as a free download for Apple and Android phones to take Crime Stoppers tips.

Users search for “P3 Tips” in the Apple App Store or Google Play, enter a code of their choosing, sign in, then select their location. Once tips are submitted, a “Tip ID” and a password are provided for logging into that tip portal any time. If a tipster is chosen to receive a reward, they pick a personal identification number that’s paired with the tip ID to collect their cash reward.

P3 Global Intel owner Kevin Anderson, who designed the app, said in a statement that everything is guaranteed to be anonymous. “The bottom line is we cannot disclose what we don’t have,” he said. “We simply do not capture any identifying information from the devices. The great thing about P3 tips is now everybody is a crime fighter.”
